Internet Explorer will allow you to have FTP access. You need to enter on the address bar ftp://yourdomain.com and hit enter key. This will then prompt for user name and password you assigned for ftp access.
It typically takes about 7-10 days from the date the Registrar received the consent for the domain transfer to be completed, provided all parties concerned act accordingly to acknowledge the transfer.
Your domain name must at least 60 days old at the current Registrar for the transfer to be possible. The domain name status must be unlocked. The future Registrar can only send the form of agreement to the Administrative e-mail address you have at the current Registrar. You need then to verify if the e-mail address you have is valid for your to receive and acknowledge the form of agreement. Else you need to update it and let the future Registar resent the form.
A domain when registered can be private or public registration. A public registration list your name, e-mail address, phone number and postal mail address in the whois database. And this whois data is available for public viewing. Private domain registration on the other hand can protect your private data. This will protect your self from spammers and scams.
There are registrar that will allow you to change your domain registration from public to private free of charge while others will cost you.
